I am at another interesting presentation about video conferencing and telepresence. Think about a minimal video conferencing install. Equipment is in the room, far site video comes in on a display (TV, LCD, projector, etc).

In short, telepresence takes a video conferencing room to the next level. The equipment is hidden and the display of remote video is engineered in to the room to give the feeling that the the people at the remote site are in your room. Room scheduling and central management of systems are part of this as well.

Telepresence is an incredible step forward with video conferencing as is High Definition video conferencing, however the cost is cosiderably higher up front in comparison to just placing a simple unit in a room.

If I only had an unlimited budget…
